The Galileo takes a trip to the Winelands

The Galileo Open Air Cinema has added the Cape Winelands to its list of venues. Once a month Stellenbosch and Somerset West locals and visitors alike, will be treated to a magical movie under the stars. Enjoy a laid back evening with friends, your family, new acquaintances or that special someone in your life, on an idyllic wine estate. Spread out on the lawn, take part in some wine tasting, indulge in the delicious spread of artisanal food on offer and when it’s time for the movie to start, put your feet up and enjoy – bliss!

The Galileo brings together simple, well-executed elements that transform the ordinary into the distinctly wonderful. Screened against ten of Cape Town’s most spectacular backdrops; Lourensford, Rustenberg, Knorhoek, Warwick, Vergenoegd and Webersburg Estates, in addition to weekly screenings at Hillcrest Quarry, Kirstenbosch Gardens and the V&A Waterfront, The Galileo is a not to be missed summer experience.

Doors open at 6pm sharp and the movie starts as soon as it is dark. Summer nights can get a bit chilly, so bring extra blankets and dress warmly; a cuddle partner is not a bad idea either. From romantic comedies, cult classics, adventure sports, documentaries and action flicks, you’ll be spoilt for choice throughout the season, which runs until April 2015.
