Get festive with The Galileo

Did you hear, ET is hiding out at Kirstenbosch Gardens and The Lion King has found a new home at Hillcrest Quarry? The Galileo Open Air Cinema, Cape Town’s favourite open-air outdoor cinema, has created a fun, family friendly lineup for the school holidays.

Taking place almost every night of the week at different outdoor venues including the V&A Waterfront, Kirstenbosch, Hillcrest Quarry, a selection of Friday night rotating venues and the Cape Winelands, every site offers a unique outdoor experience. Doors open at 6pm with a delicious mouth-watering artisanal food and drinks market, interactive games and lively music that will keep the whole family entertained right until sunset, when the stars come out, both on and off the silver screen.

The Galileo offers a truly unique outdoor experience that the entire family will remember for many holidays to come. With over 100 movies to choose from such as Finding Nemo, Home Alone, Back to the Future and Toy Story, you and your family will be spoilt for choice this festive season. Enjoy a fairy tale Christmas under the stars, at Meerendal Wine Estate on 25 December, where the Galileo will be showing the classic tale, Miracle on 34th Street.

It is a rare treat to find an evening activity that the whole family can enjoy together, so be sure to book your seats under the stars at before the holidays begin and the tickets sell out.
