Former president of Ireland and United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mary Robinson, together with MEC for education Donald Grant, visited Gugulethu on 6 August 2012, where they attended the handover of a container library at Vuyani Primary School. The refurbished container was donated to the school as part of a countrywide initiative; the Mandela Day Libraries Project, which is being run by the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory and Breadline Africa, an NGO based in Cape Town. Cape talk’s Africa Melane MC’d the event. Photographs by Miriam Mannak @miriammannak.
